The Student Experience
Our Sixth Form is founded on high aspirations, excellent academic results and an outstanding enriched curriculum. Sixth Form students are regarded as young adults and they are terrific role models for the younger community: they lead the Student Union and act as ambassadors for the whole school. We have a holistic approach in the Sixth Form and students benefit from a wide variety of experiences.
These include:
Sixth Form Freshers’ Events: including interactive and age appropriate workshops from organisations such as Learn2Live and the Somerset School Nursing teams, team building exercises and career insight delivered by the Armed Forces and a fantastic careers fair supported by an array of University & Apprenticeship providers, introducing students to the various options available to them in the future.
Competing in national competitions such as Young Enterprise, Scientific Olympiads and Mathematic Challenges.
Work experience, voluntary work and mentoring younger students
Participating in expeditions and international visits
Exclusive Volunteering NHS Programme
Visiting universities to conduct independent research for the Extended Project Qualification (EPQ)
Visiting careers fairs and university open days to ensure enhanced career progression
