We have a holistic approach to education in the sixth form and we particularly promote healthy living and healthy lifestyles: we especially focus on eating behaviour and physical health.

Recent examples include:

  • Team-building, problem-solving and physical exercise with the British Armed Forces

  • Opportunities to develop coaching qualifications in football and rugby

  • Cycle across the Somerset levels

  • Hiking in the Atlas Mountains of Morocco

  • Opportunities to complete the Duke of Edinburgh Gold Award 

  • MasterChef team challenge to promote healthy eating

  • Bike to school scheme

  • An introduction to Yoga 

  • Inter-school sixth form football matches

We are also very proud of our sixth form students who have achieved honours in their respective sports: recent notable achievements have been Harriet Dickinson in para-swimming (19 times national champion and the holder of 189 Gold medals, 156 Silver medals and 204 Bronze medals) and her brother Matt who is a very accomplished national middle-distance runner, and Luke Prior who recently won the Senior Boys’ Sedgemoor Cross-Country race and represenst Somerset in the English Schools National Cross-Country Championships.

We also have some terrific county-level volleyball players like Gemma Dade and Emily Bailey and members of Monarchs Gymnastics Club who have won international honours such Alice Dymond and Sean McKenna.
